Terms of Service

Last updated: July 20, 2026

These terms cover your use of 1099 Companion. By using the calculator or buying a report, you agree to them. Please read them.

1. What 1099 Companion is

1099 Companion is a free online calculator that estimates quarterly estimated taxes for US freelancers and 1099 workers, plus an optional $19 personalized PDF report. It is a software tool that performs calculations from published tax figures. It is not a tax preparation service, an accounting firm, or a licensed advisor.

2. Not tax advice

The calculator and the report provide informational estimates only. They are not tax, legal, or financial advice, and they do not replace a licensed tax professional. The tool makes simplifying assumptions, including standard deduction only and no itemized deductions, credits, or QBI deduction, and it fully supports only certain filing statuses and states. You are responsible for the amounts you actually pay the IRS and your state. For guidance specific to your situation, consult a licensed tax professional.

3. Purchases and refunds

The report costs $19, paid through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. If you are not satisfied with your report, email us at gabew.biz@gmail.com and we will refund you. We don't want your money if the report didn't help.

4. No warranty and limitation of liability

1099 Companion is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any tax, penalty, interest, or loss arising from your use of the tool or report. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any.

5. Changes

We may update these terms or the tool over time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Email gabew.biz@gmail.com.
